A piece of me: June 2010

Isn't it cute?! I can't take a picture with it right now because god knows where my camera is; but in the meantime I will play that "piece of me" game that I must post every month. Hopefully that will inspire me to post more often and express my so-called individuality!

This is a game from Notes From the Toothfairy and the goal is to fill the following info out every first weekend of the month. I see it as a fun way to laugh at myself every month and remember how stupid I was (I'm 18, it seems like I'm progressively maturing every day). Even chit-chat, let's begin!

This month....
I like: The Sims 3 as of now. It's the only game I can play on my laptop because of the lack of internet. I also like that the new Nancy Drew game is coming out this month!

I don't like: My cold is keeping me away from starting my workout plan. I really cannot breathe!

I want you to know: That I lost a friend for a stupid reason. It just kind of....died. She isn't my type anymore and yesterday considering she called me a stupid ass (weird insult by the way) and was embarrassed with the whole situation rather than helping. I'll explain (maybe) in another post if anyone cares. Personally, I do not.

I've planned: Graduation. Orientation. Something-ation. I'm chill this month!

I want to say to someone special: Happy 44th month anniversary to my Daniel (June 4th)! Awwww! I only write that because it makes no sense. Lol.

Barnes and Noble and a stupid dress

So i turned 18 yesterday (yee) and I received a laptop for my schooling purposes. As of now, I do not have internets at my home, so i am taking advantage of Barnes & Noble Wifi. I promised myself I would post more often (I did promise right?) but I failed to complete such mission! My mom started her school and completely took over the computer (maybe that's why I have a laptop so early...) so all I'm stuck with is the Sims 3!

Maybe (offer suggestions you beautiful readers, you) I should prewrite my blogs and transfer files via flash drive, add pictures, and post! You know what? I'm a genius! I will do that.

I am almost done with school! I hear a lot of schools are over already and I am totally jealous (stupid Florida public school system). Next Wednesday is the day of fake tears (I didn't get attached too much- I'll see all the people I like over the summer anyhow)...because that's the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL (Tiny Tim's "Living in the Sunlight" is playing in head ^0^).

As far as anything that pertains to my theme of my blog (unsure of that actual)...i have nothing except that I'm currently looking for a casual dress that can fit me.

Summers are freakishly hot and humid in Florida and I would rather wear a dress than shorts (one of those rare girl moments) but I have a weird body shape. I'm petite with rather large hips (someone actually thought I was Brazilian) but flat (well not really- like a B?)-chested, broad shoulders, and a big head (no comment!)

Another negative, after my 18th birthday, I have no physical money (a bunch of gift cards...blah). So all I can do is look but no touchy >.>.

Here's where my grubby hands have not been...
Available @ Forever 21

The stripes always you to express more of an hour glass figure that I lack to be proportionate. And for $19.80? Not bad. I want!

Any suggestions?

Boring post is boring. =/

Review- Lush Dark Angels Scrub

About a month or two ago, my boyfriend and I went shopping and finally decided to scout the Lush Cosmetics store. After about fifteen minutes and a little glitter fiasco (read for further details), my boyfriend we purchased two products- Dark Angels facial scrub and Breath of Fresh Air toner. The Dark Angels was purchased because LolAnne did a great review about it and the toner because I felt like it. I came in with a desperate need for a new face soap and came out with wishful thinking.

About this product (straight from Lush's site):
This is our soft black sugar scrub that feels oh-so-good when you rub it in and leaves your skin glowing. The velvety texture is sprinkled with black sugar and powdered charcoal to gently exfoliate and cleanse away excess oils. We add rhassoul mud and vitamin-rich cold pressed organic avocado oil to soften, moisturize and nourish skin, as well as sandalwood and rosewood oils to soothe. We're all in love with this daily cleanser (even those of us who don't have young or oily skin can't resist it!).

My observations:
I. Comes in their clear tubs (the tubs you can purchase by the ounce with) so I was able to purchase a quick starter amount (about $7 worth). Speaking of packaging, DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT store this on your bathroom counter. Put it under your sink or your room because it will suck up all the condensation from your showers and the texture will be different and probably not be the same after a while. I started storing after I noticed a difference and it was fine ever since. = )

II. Texture is crumbling and grainy but soft at the same type (weird description I know). It contains a uniform amount of the sugar throughout so your exfoliate everywhere. The grains in the soap are fine and uniform as well that provides a good cleanse

III. The Smell is...different. Very woodsy but hints of fruit (from the avocado?)

IV. My experience with it has been great so far. The only problem I may have had with it was a slight breakout about a week ago (due to stress) but it most certainly did not cause the breakout itself. I do not have oily skin, which is what the product was intended for, but it did help my face improve its texture. It may leave to "black" pores if not properly washed out.

V. Messy! Messy! Messy! I cannot describe my sink after using this stuff. Seriously though, if you want to use this, create a method to keeping as much of it in your hands as possible.

I give it a 4 out of 5 stars because its the only product my face felt smooth after using it. I deducted one star for the mess.

**GLITTER**
While browsing the store, one of the sales reps came up to us and offered a sample of their glitter bar. I allowed it, then I took it away (politely of course) and rubbed it ALL OVER my boyfriend's arm. His arm was covered in glitter! And since his arms aren't that hairy, it was more noticeable. LOL.
The sales rep laughed, "He looks like Edward from Twilight!"
My boyfriend and I simultaneously: "OH GOD" (Disclaimer: not a Twilight fan...sorry)

Sorry for the lack of updates, my mother keeps putting her nose in my business. Espeically when she can never handle my opinions of things. So I avoid blogging when she is walking about. She also gets annoying and wants to read it. I don't care, I just don't want her to read it.

I have so many things to post though! Happy Thoughts!

Happy Pi-e Day everybody!

I'm celebrating today with crepes- which is a circle. Thanks to pi, we now can find the dimensions of a circle, make sine and cosine graphs, spheres, etc.

My only question is: Why does it have to be so long?!

How will you celebrate your day of 3.14159265 (I did that from memory- no joke- I'm a nerd lol)

More like...
3.14159265358979323846264338327950288419716939937510...etc etc etc

=D

ATTENTION ALL FATTIES

Who can go wrong with a cheesy, hamburger bacon turtle????

I didn't make it, it looks gross but I bet it tastes like heaven to that salmonella-y patron.

It looks funny but cute at the same time. lol =p

My Hair Product Obsession

KMS California holds several lines of styling products that work very well. My favorite? The KMS Califonia HairStay Sculpting Lotion!

Fellow students and friends have called my hair beautiful and wondered about my secret. It's not a big secret; in fact, most of the population probably use this method. My only "difference" is the product I use to protect my hair from heat, such as the hairdryer, flattener, and the natural sun, is this sculpting lotion.

It doesn't provide too much hold but enough to satisfy me, so my hair is free to do its thing without being all over the place like it used to be due to stubborn school bus windows. That way, my hair isn't damaged (that is why a lot of people are dependant on CFC-inducing crap). It's a very soft hold and sculpted style!

What it does have is amazing shine! My hair remains pretty throughout the whole day and I love it! It also gives hair a soft look of volume when you dry your hair and it will remain that way the majority of the day (unless it's reeeeaallly stressful)

Another upside? It smells amazing like cranberry and peppermint!

The only downside- it is the most messy product ever! It isnt a lotion at all, in fact, it feels like a very light oil (but it does not cause oily hair) so you have to be very careful when you use it. Everyone knows what happens when you put too much product on one spot and this product is very good at that. Luckily, I have been perfecting my use of it so it doesnt end up on my floor!

******UPDATE I forgot the price! Well it varies by salon but I see that the average is $10-11 (USD). I bet you can find it cheaper you savvy savers you. <.<

*Le Sigh*

My face after finding out that Inglorious Basterds did not win the Oscar for Best Picture.
As I was watching the Oscars last night (the first I have ever sat there and watched an award show), I noticed that there was an incredible line of clothing that has earned my appraisal. Not that it needs it, but it sure is nice to say that.

Penelope Cruz, I WANT YOUR DRESS!! GIVE IT TO ME NOWWW!!!

And to think Fiji Water was enough

No, apparently we have to make water even more expensive.

Thank you Bling H20 of making me realize that you can market just about anything- including a $40 bottle of water.

What's their story? Apparently Mr. Kevin G. Boyd, a writer-producer, saw that in Hollywood, where image is of utmost importance, you could tell a lot about a person by the bottle of water they carried.

Long story short, their mission is to offer "an exquiste face to match our exquiste taste". The brand features frosted bottles decorated with Swarovski crystals. The water contained in the bottle comes from a Tennessee spring and is purified in a nine-step process that includes ozone, ultraviolet treatment and micro-filtration.

Bling H2O was initially introduced to hand-selected athletes and actors. The bottled water is now available to the public. Bling H2O has been featured at the MTV Video Music Awards and The Emmys.

*gently place palm into face"

Some quick observations:
1. Why would I be carrying a glass bottle around with me? I know that celebrities have hectic lives as well, and there will be dropping- and you cannot just carry it around on set or something.
2. It's made in Tennessee. You pay for Fiji water because it was bottled in Fiji and it's awesome. Even (don't quote me) some of the $5 hotel water is from exotic locations. I admire Tennessee and its beauty- but why can I not pay for paradise water?
3. It's a nine step purification. I did my research and found that Aquafina is a seven step procress- and included processes like ultraviolet, reverse osmosis, and is constantly purified and filtered until there is nothing but good h20. So what's the difference? 2 extra steps.
4. I have to give a tip of the hat to the fact that it's glass which is more recyclable than plastic.
5. They have a "breast cancer" themed bottle. There is nothing interesting about it except that it has a pink ribbon necklace. At least tell me it's going to a good cause. Of course not.
6. They however have plastic bottles for Haiti, that if you buy they would send your case with two other cases to give to the relief efforts. Bravo, but no one can really tell the difference. Plus, how much of the profits are you keeping?

This product is the devil to me right now. I have a bare minimum amount of savings right now- and to know that people are wasting money on fancy water makes me a very sad panda.

The worst part- the main page has a celulitte-free model with a crystal thong. Oh lawd.

It is at this time that we commerate this moment by thinking of the song "Rich and Famous" by Good Charlotte. I think we should save them.

U to the F

I am officially a college student!

I have been accepted to the University of Florida and I am attending as a Junior (thanks to the fabulous Dual Enrollment program) in the Fall of 2010!

I am very excited considering University of Florida is very prestigious (most people are impressed) and has an awesome sports team!

If any readers are FSU, Tennessee, or Canadians, I'm sorry- but I do not care.

College here I come!

What's for breakfast?

[picture curteous of CakeSpy]
This is a blunt way of putting this but, have you ever wondered why you fail at diets? Everyone struggles with weight loss, but no one understands why it keeps coming back.

I may loose some followers, or help, but I always wanted to say something about this. Okay...

The same people who struggle with weightloss is the same people who refuse to eat breakfast. Is there a connection?

Why yes, yes there is.

In fact, studies are constantly showing how eating a very good (and healthy) breakfast in the morning decreases your chances of eating more throughout the day. I keep saying this to the fatties who go, "I can't eat in the morning, its too early."

You know what always happen? You eat more later because suddenly your stomach is like exploding with anger saying, "FEED ME!!"

Unfortunately, my mom asked, "How do you explain me then?" It's because you are doing it wrong. Do not coat your oatmeal with globs of maple syrup, or sugar filled cereals. I have a point. Trust me.

Here is another study I found: Drink Skim Milk. According to the fabulous Dr. Oz (don't quote me on the source- I get his newsletters), It contains 8 grams of protein (as opposed to 1 in fruit juice) that fill your stomach and make you eat less. In a study they conducted, groups ate toast in the morning, one with juice and one with milk. The groups who drank milk ate less throughout the day. I assume a connection may be possible.

So start your day right and you will feel much better throughout the day. It may help you create better lifestyle choices in the future. Please be smart and eat your Cheerios!

Dr.Seuss will take credit here, lol

From Coastal Scents 78 piece combo palette- Neon Pink & Vibrant Green.

I have no clue how I got inspired with this look, but pink looks really well on green/hazel eyes. It kind of reminds me of something Dr. Seuss would do if he was a make-up artist.

Silly Humans...rabbit ears are for rabbits!

The newest trend for Spring 2010? 0_0
Apparently the thought of spring and Alice in Wonderland suddenly sparked a fashion trend that may not be seen other than the runway.

Luis Vuitton is currently the first to captivate us all with this new style trend. I cannot see myself wearing something like this but, I know that it will be party material for most.
I doubt I'll see it ever on the streets, but hey, society surprises me everyday.
I know this is definitely something that can terribly wrong if not worn correctly. So fashionising.com created some Do's and Dont's for this new look:
Do: go for tousled bedhair, a simple up-do, or 60's sex-kitten voluminous locks; be fashion-forwards, daring, and confident; have fun with it.

Don't: spoil it by wearing cheap costume props. The appeal is in the luxury. This doesn't necessarily mean spending bucketloads, just choosing quality materials and well-crafted accessories.

Do: wear it for a night out, day at the races, and any fun or frivolous activity. A big set of bunny ears is probably not so great for the office.

Don't: wear it with outfits that are too cutesy or girly; it's a fine balance between smoldering sexiness and girly innocence that makes this trend so workable.

Note: Is it me or does the model on the left having a bad day?

Sailor's Warning

From Coastal Scents 78 peice combo palette: dark blue, deep purple, brick red, peachy orange, and yellow.

My mom always told me when the sky gets this way, there will be a storm tonight. Exactly why I called it the Sailor's warning.

Leggings=YUS

I love leggings. Unfortunately, I don't have too many because it would be pointless because my school doesn't allow them (Gayyyyyy).

Black Milk Clothing is a store dedicated to leggings and bodysuits. Some of them are hot and some of them are meant to turn heads (like that "Wat??" face)

Anyway, I love this site that is full of leggings. Awesome and hot leggings. I wouldn't mind owning a pair ^_^.

The Con: It would be a week's worth of pay if you had a minimum wage job. I don't have a job- so I wont see these bad boys for a long while.

I have to say my favorites are:

You can wear them with a long shirt or a mini skirt or just like regular pants. Awesome party pants am I right? XD

Life & Exercise

I am deciding to get in the habit of exercising again.

It is a total mind clearer and mind clearing is what I need.

And if I'm persistent, I'll have a body like Megan Fox (considering I have a lot of her measurements-5'6" 114 pounds...getting there). 0_0 But why be like Megan Fox when you could be your own sexy self?

My bf has the P90X DVDs but I am not sure if I should do the regular routine (for muscles) or the lean(for well...leanness).

Any thoughts?

Peta's "Worst Dressed" List?

I guess the winner for the 2009 year is....
Madonna

When you see Madonna in fur, you realize why nobody has copied her style since 1984. We know that she's on the prowl for a young cub, but someone needs to tell Madge that wearing fur doesn't make you a cougar-Peta's Website

Apparently Peta became the newest fashion police. Who knew? Although they are a deeply annoying organization, they do have a point. People should never wear furs. The number one reason is because they represent a cruel and vicious act toward defenseless animals. The number two reason is that they blow you up like a fat balloon (considering why Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen are seen with it...Ha ha). And number three...they can look really awkward if not warn in a proper way such as this boot:

If you are so very cold and absolutely need fur...go faux and save a baby seal.

Feel free to go to Peta's website about this "Worse-Dressed" and do not be surprised to see good ol' Kanye West on the list as well.

My Golden Globe take

I never really use to care about fashion when it came to awards show- but this year has definitely caught my interest. Unfortunately, most of it was negative.

The Good

Diane Kruger is one of my favorite actresses. I thought she was so awesome playing Bridget Von Hammersmark in Inglorious Basterds. I give her glorious respect to wear fuchsia. Although it looks a little bit on the childish side, considering the textures, but she pulled it off. I wish that she had a little more sophistication in her dressing like she did in Basterds but whatever works to turns heads is fine by me. Her hair is elegant and simple jewelry completes her beautiful face. Thank you.

The Bad

I don't care how gorgeous this dress is: That slit is way too high and she needs to comb her hair NOW. Although I am jealous of that skin tone and her ability to seduce Gerard Butler <.< Tip: Unless your hair is up, have a brush/comb with you at all times. Messy hair makes my neck itch. (Weird I know)

The Ugly
This is a horrible representation of America people. Horrible. Cleavage "grabbing" cleavage? Come on Anna Lynne McCord, let us do better next time. You make me cry. And have you ever noticed that when people wear revealing clothing...they tend to lose their posture? Unacceptable.

The Lovely Bones

When I am supposed to be doing something, like clean my room, I end up reading.

Last night I finally looked at my bedside and saw The Lovely Bones sitting quietly. I knew that it was supposed to be a depressing story about how a girl was raped and murdered, but I decided to read it before I go to bed.

Note: I am not a sissy girl; I do not cry about the tragic plots in movies nor do I cry about a book.

It is sad, but it is a good read. A relitively fast read as well- I read 40 pages in 30 minutes.

Plus there's a movie out based on this book. So let's give this a reason to catch up on my reading.

And so far...no tears.

Because we are all mad...

I created a blog because I needed my wonderland. It will be 4 months until I am 18 and I'm slightly anticipating my official climb to adulthood. I am perfectly safe with my happy family in suburian Florida.

I'm happy but not satisfied.

This will be my adventure with philosophy, crafts, photoshop, music, the flute, bass, and much more.

Thank you for reading and hope to see you soon
