Review- Lush Dark Angels Scrub

About a month or two ago, my boyfriend and I went shopping and finally decided to scout the Lush Cosmetics store. After about fifteen minutes and a little glitter fiasco (read for further details), my boyfriend we purchased two products- Dark Angels facial scrub and Breath of Fresh Air toner. The Dark Angels was purchased because LolAnne did a great review about it and the toner because I felt like it. I came in with a desperate need for a new face soap and came out with wishful thinking.

About this product (straight from Lush's site):
This is our soft black sugar scrub that feels oh-so-good when you rub it in and leaves your skin glowing. The velvety texture is sprinkled with black sugar and powdered charcoal to gently exfoliate and cleanse away excess oils. We add rhassoul mud and vitamin-rich cold pressed organic avocado oil to soften, moisturize and nourish skin, as well as sandalwood and rosewood oils to soothe. We're all in love with this daily cleanser (even those of us who don't have young or oily skin can't resist it!).

My observations:
I. Comes in their clear tubs (the tubs you can purchase by the ounce with) so I was able to purchase a quick starter amount (about $7 worth). Speaking of packaging, DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT store this on your bathroom counter. Put it under your sink or your room because it will suck up all the condensation from your showers and the texture will be different and probably not be the same after a while. I started storing after I noticed a difference and it was fine ever since. = )

II. Texture is crumbling and grainy but soft at the same type (weird description I know). It contains a uniform amount of the sugar throughout so your exfoliate everywhere. The grains in the soap are fine and uniform as well that provides a good cleanse

III. The Smell is...different. Very woodsy but hints of fruit (from the avocado?)

IV. My experience with it has been great so far. The only problem I may have had with it was a slight breakout about a week ago (due to stress) but it most certainly did not cause the breakout itself. I do not have oily skin, which is what the product was intended for, but it did help my face improve its texture. It may leave to "black" pores if not properly washed out.

V. Messy! Messy! Messy! I cannot describe my sink after using this stuff. Seriously though, if you want to use this, create a method to keeping as much of it in your hands as possible.

I give it a 4 out of 5 stars because its the only product my face felt smooth after using it. I deducted one star for the mess.

**GLITTER**
While browsing the store, one of the sales reps came up to us and offered a sample of their glitter bar. I allowed it, then I took it away (politely of course) and rubbed it ALL OVER my boyfriend's arm. His arm was covered in glitter! And since his arms aren't that hairy, it was more noticeable. LOL.
The sales rep laughed, "He looks like Edward from Twilight!"
My boyfriend and I simultaneously: "OH GOD" (Disclaimer: not a Twilight fan...sorry)

Sorry for the lack of updates, my mother keeps putting her nose in my business. Espeically when she can never handle my opinions of things. So I avoid blogging when she is walking about. She also gets annoying and wants to read it. I don't care, I just don't want her to read it.

I have so many things to post though! Happy Thoughts!
